since 2006 ( I think ! )
The most I can put on the thing seems to be£200..
And as I ordered a physical card my balance is not even that but £195..
£200 is not going to get me very far !

I topped up £500 on the 1st of jan so can’t understand why it won’t let you.

If you are topping up from a bank account I would think that it is the bank putting a daily limit on transfers to another card, I think mine limits transfers to Revolut at £300.

Build up the balance by doing a few daily transfers.

Hmmm.. Could be 24 hours rather than a day.. I will try later on

Apart from a debit card is there any other way of loading it though ?

hya - I top mine up £500 at a time from my Santander bank account never had any probs, perhaps it's something to do with using debit card, try topping up direct from bank account maybe.
cheers

Not that I know of.

Edit:

Just checked help and it states:

bank transfer
card
Apple or Google pay

If you look on the help section ( bottom right 3 blue balls, help at the top, then getting started) it gives details of how to do each method.

i beleive that you can go on line with your bank and make a direct transfer to your revolut
account, sort code and a/c number to transfer to found on your revolut app

We top both ours up by direct transfer from our Nationwide+ account, not yet found a daily limit but usually do £1000 with no problems, then transfer within Revolut to allow us to draw a total of €400 ish each month at the ATMs.
Cheers

I top mine up using my Barclays debit card.

I can top up as much as I want (subject to available funds).

I am sure you can also top up (or have other, non Revolut, folk send you money) directly from bank accounts. It is all explained in the Q&A section.

Of course, sending money between Revolut card holders is really quick and easy.

As you're new to it you might have an initial top up limit of £200 with Revolut ...

https://www.revolut.com/help/transactions/top-ups/why-has-my-top-up-failed

We also have a daily top-up limit for recently added top-up cards, so please wait until the next day if you have just added a new card and topped up successfully with it before. This daily limit will be increased automatically after a few top-ups.

@Jaws ... forgot to say, was this the 'parcel' you weren't expecting???

£200 is not going to get me very far !

If you had ordered a CB500X it would get you about 2800 miles, just short of Moscow. But no you went for a Panzer Bike that will immediately head for Poland and run out of that fuel somewhere near Brussels.

four led tail lights that I have got to convert to specialised ones..They are for the Honda Blackbird (cbr1100XX ) and this is what they look like when done:

I make the PCB, populate it ( 52 led's, 4 diodes, 4 resistors and three capacitors .. and a couple of other bits that are not in the public domain ;) )
Strip down the light unit, discard all existing 'guts', modify the light 'body' and fit the new PSB in.. Reassemble the light and its done :-)

??? so do they flash ?
No Brian.. I use the caps to help stop transient spikes along with a thing that looks like a diode but is a transorb . Did not want them able to flash to ensure legality world wide..
As it turned out I only needed to get them TUV approved and everywhere else accepted that !! :)

Proper job.

I personally hate the latest cars with the indicator running LED bars. No logical reason, it just seems so juvenile electronically.

I have read that you can buy flashing brake light bulbs, now they may be a good thing, legal or not.

And the top up mystery is resolved :-)

Thought I would give it a few days to what, if anything, would change
Went on the app and still could not top up any more, BUTthis time there was a reason
It wanted confirmation of who I am ( a picture of my passport and a 'live' picture of me.
Did that.... 15 minutes later all confirmed and able to top up.

Now have another question.
Should I convert the currency to € in the app options ?
It is all the card will be used for

I`d say yes, at the moment it`s euro 1.1468 to the pound on Revolut, ASDA are euro 1.12 something so a better rate from Revolut. ASDA are usually one of the better high street rates offered.
Makes you about £10 better off per £500 converted using Revolut

Yes and no ... it depends!

If you are going away soon then the rate is probably as good as it's gonna get for a while, if you're not going for a few months it might, just might, improve ... it's a bit of a guessing game! D'ya feel lucky punk ... well do ya???

Glad it's all sorted John, mine usually takes £1000 at a time so I was bemused. I looked Minx's link and it said, "
Why has my top-up failed?
Some of the most common reasons are that you've had insufficient funds, input wrong card details (expiry date, CVC, billing address), or used an expired card."

Well we all know it ain't that so I can only assume they've caught up with that money laundering scam on those cheapo Blackbirds.

Usually it’s best to avoid converting at weekends as the rate is not as good.

So it is like changing money ( cash ) and the rate you change it is what you get at the time you spend it .. ( explaining this poorly but I hope get get the gist of it ! )

If you change it today from £ to € you'll get today's exchange rate, regardless of what the rate is on the day you actually use the €, so if you see a good exchange rate it's worth doing it earlier rather than leaving it until you actually start spending it ... but unless you are spending a lot of money in €s the difference isn't massive.

I top up from my debit card and it is instant. I did have a senior moment and did an online transfer from my bank account(the same one that has the debit card) and that took nearly 48 hours as it was the weekend. I was getting in a bit of a tizzy until I realised what I'd done.

When we leave for France tomorrow, my first spend on the card will finish up the Euros I got for 1.40 to the pound. For ages now, since the rate went down, I have been tempted to change them back to show a profit. :clap2:
