MH
Fiat Ducato Mooveo
Phew, what a minefield. Quite like the sound of a Bluetooth one. Anyone with any experience of these or should i stick to a good old fashioned wired one?

I wouldn't be without ours, what radio do you have, can you get one that integrates with it? This would be the neatest option.

It’s just a basic cd/fm radio. My MH is a 2099, Fiat Ducato Mooveo, nowt fancy. But i think it would be prudent to get a sat nav that wont take me down the tiny road route as i am new to all this, so not experienced.

Is it a prototype?

I had an auto vox solar wireless one which worked OK until it refused to take a charge, they didn't want to know so I binned it & bought a cheap wired one, bit of a pain to run cables but it works well.

Get a Garmin 780 or larger and you can install upto 2 bluetooth cameras that run on AA batteries. Mines 2.5 years old on the same battery and you can take it with you if you upgrade your van

2099 - did you pre order it and get it (very) early? 😂

If it is a reversing camera you are after, my vote would be a wired unit. Unlike the instant results from a wireless unit, you should not be prone to any interference. Routing a cable through the van is not usually too difficult as manufacturers already have routes for all sorts of cables if you look around.
My personal preference would be to have a twin camera unit with the driving camera always on and the reversing camera linked to the reversing lights.

I've just upgraded the camera which was on our van when we bought it, to the twin-camera version from here: https://www.parkingcameras.com/stor...-sony-twin-lens-ccd-black-bracket-camera.html

There are cheaper ones on eBay which look almost identical - but this company comes well recommended and is big enough to have some sway with the manufacturers on spec - so although I think you can get lucky with some of the cheaper ones, this was a 'sure thing' and I didn't want to have to swap it over several times. Certainly the kit and documentation are high quality - the only part which was less so was the dashboard mount for the screen. They do sell (very cheaply!) optional alternative dashboard mounts - I was about to order one which looked much better fit for the ducato with Remis blinds in the way, but then realised it was the same mount as on my old camera screen, so I simply kept the mount and fitted the new screen to it!

The guy who runs it was also helpful a year or so ago when I first contacted him with my requirements and described the issue I was having with the prior camera. His advice actually ended up with me getting another year out of the old camera!

We've only had one weekend away in the van since fitting the new camera, but so far so good. A little more angle adjustment needed, but having the 'always on' rear view camera should give my OH a little more confidence when she starts driving the van more often.

(I didnt' go for the AHD upgrade - tempting, but I was a little concerned about the described delay in switching between forward and reverse, when doing a multi-point-turn manouvre. In retrospect probably not something I should have worried about, as you don't really need the wider "normal" rear view when you take the forward shunt - so I was probably overthinking it!)

I found that the always on camera came into its own when driving on fairly agressive Seville roundabouts. where lane discipline was sometimes borderline chaotic.
