I have a reversing camera that displays on the radio screen on a 2019 Fiat Ducatto. It only works when rear gear is engaged, does anyone know if it is easy or possible to turn it on when travelling so I can check the scooter rack or anything being towed?

We have our cmos camera rigged up to the kenwood radio system. There is an option on ours that can be associated to another button. If I press and hold the tel button, the display turns to rear view. I think it has to be set up on install, but sure it can be rigged later. Snag is if you don’t have wiring or instal guide for both camera and radio, you may not know which cables to use.

Thanks Zigisla - Ours is a fiat factory fit so not sure we have that option. It may operate through the data bus rather than simple wiring so I guess we may need to trick it. I was hoping someone else had done this. Days were when you could put a spanner on a vehicle and fix it!

Rohsman Our 2022 Fiat Uconnect system lets me switch it on for a short period as I drive forward. I select Apps on the Uconnect and then choose the rear view camera. It comes on for long enough for me to check our bikes.

Thanks for reply. Didn’t know about that I’ll have a play and see if I can find something.

There IS a way to do this from within the options menu, my wife discovered it by accident whilst looking round the settings,I’ve posted about it in the past and others have then found it and used it to keep an eye on trailers etc
i can’t tell you where it is but it is there 👍
