Hi all intelligent motorhome functors. Maybe one of you can help us with an ehu conundrum?
On a site In Morocco, paid for ehu, plugged in, red light on. I took the plug out and swapped live and neutral wire round and plugged it in again. Reverse polarity light still on. Tried different sockets and another power box but just the same.
Anyone had this problem? or can tell me why its happening please??
Everything seems to work but it's a bit worrying, am I doing damage to any of my bits?
Thanks in advance,

My understanding is it AC current so shouldn't be a problem only in that certain switches will be live, others with ore knowledge will I'm certain give a more in-depth answer.

You need to check WHAT the actual polarity is by using a test meter
Also you need to check the inside of the vans socket isn't the problem ( had a friend who had that problem)

Wouldn't hurt to check continuity of your hook up cable too just in case there's damage along it

Don’t worry about it unless you have bear wires somewhere it shouldn’t affect your electrical system 😬

Could be a two phase supply used to get them on very old sites in France where the village had upgraded from 110v to 220v.

You have a RCD in the van so nothing to worry about.

Thanks folks, just found another thread about the same problem and it all seems to say "don't worry"
Everything seems to be working fine so hopefully not a problem. This site, like most over here, seems to have haphazard wiring, strung across trees and such. Only here 1 night, then onto our next adventure.
Thanks again, 😊

Check the hook up earth connection, without referencing earth the warning light can't indicate which is live and neutral and sometimes comes on.
