2005 Compass Avantga
Hi All, just bought my new to me motorhome. 2005 Compass Avantgarde 300 with a Peugeot 2 Litre base. I'm not any good at anything so I need help. I'm changing the reverse light switch. Is there a locking tab I need to press to release the electric block from the switch. I don't want to break anything. Thanks. Sorry about pics.

I’m only guessing as I haven’t done this job on your gearbox but normally push a button/prong in as you pull. Best to push connectors together, press, then pull.

Does you new switch give better idea of mechanism?

Googling pictures show the catch is on the switch, so press the little lever that in on the connector of the loom.

I haven't bought new switch yet, have googled picture of new switch and could see the locking button on it. But it's on the part of the switch near the mounting bracket. So no view of it.

I would recommend testing your existing switch before removing. It looks like it could be difficult to remove (corrosion) so would be annoying to find it wasn’t the problem

It only took 10 minutes to do on YouTube video. Intermittent fault. So I was going to change switch. If that didn't solve it take it to auto electrician.

Incase it helps anyone in the future. There is a similar connection on the bottom hose to see how to disconnect electrics on reverse light switch. Pictures are from the reverse switch. Thanks Landy Andy for your help.
