Hymer 504
We have just bought a 2007 Hymer 504 and were wondering if anyone knows if it is possible (and sensible) to fit a roof rack to it. I am contemplating it for occasionally carrying a windsurfer.

.hi how many boards u want to carry .and what length weight . if this van came with roof bars as option then there should be area on roof that is made with extra support .try contacting hymer or find someone with same van that has bars and take measurements. u need to find this out and then u need a ladder maybe a folding ladder , some roofs are recomended not to stand on but i would bet yours is ok but check ;this is all ways a tricky one with boards ,i surf shortboards so not so bad .the last motorhome i had 3 stood up in the bog she would do her nut when she wanted a eartha kit.but the van now i can get her 7ft board in garage .i have seen boards strapped to bike rack but thats not for me;dont forget any fabrictor will weld u some custom stainless bars

Just one board and a small rig. I will measure up and see if it can fit in the garage. The other option that occured to me was an inflatable board but they look too big to use when it is windy.
