Rally Chat RETROFESTIVAL NEWBURY - Event for Cassie

As you have probably noticed on the paperwork sent with your pass we are planning on holding an Event for Cassie. Cassie is one of the marshals and many will know that from previous Retrofestival's is one of the regular Marshalling team. She has MS and the best hope she has is to go to Russia for some pioneering treatment which is not available on the NHS and has to be totally self-funded .


To do this we plan to hold a Raffle – to make it fun we will hold draw at the same time as the Jacobs table and Rick ( Motor Roamin) will put a suitable spin on the prizes . People who have seen Rick in full flow will know he has a unique way of describing the prizes !!! To help this on its way if you have any items you think may be a good prize – a silly prize – a funny prize or even a surprise prize please post or pm me so we can get a list together and of course bring it with you . All proceeds will be passed to Cassie at the time to help her with the £50K bill. The organisers have also promised a substantial donation to the cause. All help and support greatly appreciated. Just to highlight - this raffle is to help Cassie on the costs of MS treatment in Russia - she leaves on the 4th of September 17. More info in the first post.

The raffle will be a fun one with Rick ( Motor Roamin) putting an unusual spin on the prizes so trust me it will be funny. All items old, new , Useful, useless, funny, antique ( not me!!) are welcome.

Please dig in the dark areas of your cupboards and find those unwanted Christmas gifts and lets have them as a prize - the more the merrier. So if you find the odd Gainsborough or Rembrandt in there bring it along !!!

The Shepton Show ticket https://www.outandaboutlive.co.uk/shows/show/the-south-west-motorhome-show has arrived thanks to an anonymous Funster who kindly donated this - whoever wins this will need to see me to sort the registration details for Warners & be added to the Fun list of those attending.
This is for one pitch for two people arriving on Thursday 7th September to be camped in the Motorhome Fun area & includes entertainment paid for two adults for the Saturday night with Queen, Meatloaf & T-Rex tribute acts so normally costs £53.
As @Landy lover anyone winning this would need to be able to use it & give their details to me at Retro to pass on perhaps this should go to auction?

Thank you Funsters for your generous donations, bidding in the auction, bringing yummy food to the Jacobs Table & for buying so many raffle tickets! According to Rick on the RVOC forum the total raised was £2252.25 There was also a £1000 donation from Retrofestival organisers so grand total so far is £3252.25
It's not over yet... we still have a family ticket for Sunshine 2018 & another one for Mello 2018 for best offer kindly donated by the festival organisers - details below.

I would also like to say a HUGE thank you to you all for your amazing generosity and support, I cannot express how grateful I am to you all

I can't wait to get this done to see if it can reduce the crippling fatigue I experience - I was very much on top form at the show with the positive energy from all those around me but I am really paying for it today - only really able to sit in a cool room and wait it out until it passes, and that's why I need to get this done as that just isn't me!

Thanks again, will keep you all updated with progress; today I purchased a snazzy in ear thermometer so I can keep an accurate eye on my temperature to watch for any spikes that would indicate an infection / problem post treatment!
