Hi Folks. Has anyone ever fitted a pop top (roof tent) to a Ducato. I'm looking to upgrade a 6.4 m Ducato to Autotrail Adventurer 65 spec. Any advise on manufacturer's or fitters welcome please?

Some years since I fitted one but it is relatively straight forwatd. The hardest bit is the first cut. Then it is common sense assembling and sealing the frame.

The one I fitted was bought used from a written off van and came with the roof still attached as it was cut off rather than unbolt it. Took a long taking it appart and cleaning off sealant as refitting. It was a much cheaper option by a very wide margin

Bit confused as to whats on the market to do the roof conversion.

Looking for someone who has had it done or knows who can do it..........

Front roof vent should disappear where the entry hatch is , rear one is just out of the way.

Maybe try some vw camper converters for advice or quotes

We’ve recently had a pop top fitted to our VW T6.1 by Cosmic Campers in Derby and we’re really pleased with the finished job, Cosmic Campers covered and sealed everything whilst they carried out the work and our van was returned to us absolutely spotless.

That's the thing.

They don't put the poptop on the roof, they cut a big hole and fit it in.

At least with VWs.

If they do the same with that Ducato roof it's going to be a nightmare, all the furniture would be affected, the shower room, all the top cupboards.

VW pop-tops add headroom, so they do cut the whole roof.

Ducato 'tent in the roof' conversions are just a hatch.

From the diagram on the Auto Trail website, I'm not convinced there's room for a rear skylight though.

I'm sure I have already seen 2 or 3 companies that do this conversation.
Or, one of the Self-build groups, I'm sure they would have contacts.🤔

I think, a lot depends IF we are talking about adults or children.

If a young family, why not buy a good extendable awning with curtains sides in which the adults can sleep in summer, or IF 4 ADULTS. buy a small towable caravan and park on same site with independence? 🤔
