enough to know i shouldnt touch things i know nothing about ....
I can't make my mind up about upgrading my current 3d printer. I want something that prints all the usual filaments with no fuss. I don't need speed, just reliability.

Are objects printed in resin better?

As many may already know, I’m really bias towards Prusa, but my most versatile printer for doing everything from small to large with the added option of multiple colours is the Prusa XL. It’s not cheap though. In conjunction with Prusa Slicer everything is pretty much guaranteed to work painlessly. It’s a big printer.
I’ve looked at resin printers many times, but as Lenny HB says, it’s not a replacement. It’s also very messy, smelly and involved with washing and curing. For making bits and bobs for Motorhomes a conventional additive 3D printer is far better. The new core one looks to be awesome and I will probably get one soon.

My Prusa i3 Mk3 is probably five years old now, a self assembled kit at £700. Pricey at the time, but it worked right out of the box and it still does.

Thanks, I have ditched the resin printer idea but still looking at the creality K1 or K1 Max, i have around £500 to play with, so would consider others around that price. I am dubious about buying pre loved though ..

Being honest we've stuck with Creality for years. Cheap units, work well ; only issue is making sure you buy one with all the bells and whistles like auto bed levelling to make prints more reliable;

But the best bit, is like Prusa you can get spares trivially. That isn't the case with all brands. Prusa or Creality would be my choice (we went with a Creality ourselves).

I have an ender 3 v2 and a bambu p1s.
The ender 3 is great. Super cheap. Cheap parts. Easy to use.
The p1s was much more expensive but the actual printing process is so much easier and it is much faster.

I went for the K1 Max - pretty much overkill for my needs but I had some spare cash, so made the splash .... Arrives today !!

Will prob give my daughter the Ender 5 pro which has been a great printer to be honest, so she can have a play with it before passing it to my grandson who needs another hobby other than games consoles .... (in my opinion!)

PS apparently there is now an add on for the Max to allow different coloured filament to be used on the same print (I know it exists already for some of the high end printers)

I've seen good reviews of the k1

Also it's better to have the extra spec and not need it than to need it and not have it.

Good buy enjoy.
