im a not so newbie
I’ve had a search and can’t find which sealant is recommended for sealing the roof vents.

Sikaflex EBD

Puraflex 40

CT1

I’m not fixing things down just cleaning everything and putting a bead around everything.

Thanks

many many years! since I was a kid
The problem with using sika or puraflex is they are more of a permanent seal. Rooflights are installed on non setting mastic tape, because of expansion and contraction in the weather and resists moving during vibration. If you are simply sealing the edges, stick with mastic

When I changed two of our roof vents over to Thule Omnivent fan units I bedded the new roof vents down on SikaLastomer 710 which is a non-setting butyl sealant.
