CI Carioca 694
Is it possible to replace the rather grim looking rear skylight on our recently bought CI Carioca 694, a 2008 model. It’s got yellow fins and winds open by a handle and has no blackout blind. I assume they may be a standard size. Thanks in advance

My previous van was off similar vintage. The skylight was yellowed and had gone all spiders web like with micro cracks. It decided it didn't need the hinge on one side on the motorway on the way to a holiday. I'm surprised it didn't eject itself.

Mine was a standard 400mm square. I replaced it was a completely different model. It's not a hard job. Screws, sealant remover and blades to cut the old sealant out. The hardest bit might be access. But I could get steps under my skylight and I did most of the cleanup (the most laborious bit) while standing through the hole (yes, I'm skinny).

My original skylight rotary lifting mechanism failed. I replaced the skylight with THIS 400 x 400 version. The lifting method is simple and effective. I removed the old one very much like Guigsy described above - and I'm not skinny!
Note that you need the non-ventilated version for a MH.
