Hoping for a quick response as I'm sat here in the van with my fuse at hand.
Do I need to disconnect the battery before replacing the fuse? It's the red one on the top of the battery.
Thank you

IMHO I would disconnect the neg terminal on battery after leaving the ignition off for a while.
If you don't have the radio code I would do it live but try not to generate sparks.

Do you know why the fuse is blown ?

They do so for a reason, eg.. short , overload, earth fault.. if not rectified the new fuse will also blow..

Is the step jammed or ??

To answer the question, no need to disconnect the battery to replace the fuse if you have rectified the problem..

I did disconnect, the fuse is changed and the step works again. I didn't think it was just stuck as we are quite careful about keeping it clean and when it stopped working it was sudden and there was absolutely no sound from the motor. So I thought either the fuse, a loose wire or the motor, and started with the fuse.

Thank you for the advice, berni109 and scotjimland.

My Neo step stopped working after I changed the vehicle battery last week (a dead cell). Which is the step fuse? If one of those 50 or 70 amp fuses in the pic, where did you get the replacement? Any help gratefully received, my wife needs a helping hand to get in!

Update: I had a short chat with a technical guy at Vantage - they are sending me a replacement fuse

12V Planet is a good supplier for stuff like those Midi fuses. Be careful you get the right size, because Mega fuses look very similar in online pictures, but are the bigger size, like that bigger grey one on the right.
