Hi all.
I think my EBL 226 has well and truly packed in, I’m new to this and looking online I can’t see what to replace it with.
I’m supposed to be going on a trip on Wednesday so any help/advice would be appreciated.
Thank you

They can usually be repaired, A and N caravans and Aplujack engineering frequently come up as recommendations on here.
It might not save you trip this week though 😕
If you use the search function, lots of threads come up
Oh and w2f

A couple of known repair companies if any help :

If it's just the charger side of the EBL then maybe consider installing a seperate charger.

Bit of infor here on the 226 https://www.apuljackelectronics.co....-Fuseboard-with-Integrated-Charger__p-47.aspx

That would be your worst nightmare.
Elektroblocks have their faults but they are amongst the best. I would get it repaired or replace it would be a big job replacing it with a different unit.

I agree with Lenny HB about replacing with a Sargent unit. What has gone so wrong that you want to give up on it? As tonka says, if the charger has gone, it's easy to install an additional charger, there's even a socket for it on the front panel (top left). Has it totally packed up or are parts of it still functioning?

Only one side seems to be working. There is nothing working in terms of the heating, fridge, outside step which seems to be on the one side of the unit. The lighting etc is working. There doesn’t seem to be anything online for the 226 anymore either

A lot of converters provide permanent power to the heater, step & fridge via a separate fuse bank and NOT via the EBL, Hymer do it that way.

To my mind, this a no brainer, whatever else you do.

You will then have the option to charge the batteries (including the ability to change the battery type and size should you wish.)

There are two latching relays inside the EBL, which control the outputs. The heating, fridge, awning light and step are on one relay (MS Relay 2). Everything else is on the other relay (MS Relay 1), which is flipped on and off by the display panel 12V switch.

The relays are the bistable latching type. Unlike standard relays they have two stable positions, on and off, and are flipped from one state to the other by magnetic coils. The coils are activated from the central control chip. There is no main switch for this on the EBL front panel, so I presume the switch is also on the display panel. What is the model number of your display panel?

I don't know if it's possible to flip the relays into the ON state manually, many latching relays have a small slider to manually change the state. But that will probably mean taking out the EBL and opening it up. Once flipped to the ON state, it should stay in that state, but don't touch the panel switch because it might flip it back to the OFF state again.

As others have said, this repair is the kind of thing A&N Caravan Services or Apuljack Electronics can do.

The model number on the display is LT500
