Apologies for yet another ' how can I fix a whacked mirror' thread. But none I have found quite answer my question.
Offside mirror whacked in France and back casing cracked In bottom third.
Bottom mirror cracked but not unusable, indicator clear cover broken.
All electrics working.
Temporary fix with black and clear tape has held for 2000 miles but MOT approaching.
So, how do I remove back shell of the mirror, glue it up, drop in a new indicator unit and reassemble?

Not a MOT failure as long as mirror useable but might be an 'advisory'.

I changed the whole lot, picked up a genuine Fiat brand mirror from Facebook for £70. Cant you fit a mirror protector?

The parts I need come to under £20 and removing the whole mirror assembly is a real pita.

Indicator unit held in by a Phillips screw, accessed by adjusting the top mirror out as far as it will go. Really simple to change. I keep spare units on board in case.

You can buy a plastic mirror protector and stick that over the original case. Job done.

Does the broken mirror contain the temperature sensor? If so, and replacing new for old make sure to source one containing the sensor on the bottom of the mirror casing, normally on the drivers side/off side.

On a related topic and rather than start a new thread, as I understand it the Ducato has three variations of wing mirror based on the length of the mirror "arms" - short, medium and long. Does anyone know the arm length of each version? It appears to be relevant if one wants to fit mirror guards??

Nice helpful vid, looks like a simple enough job to do.
Just watched the video. Very helpful. Job looks straightforward. I'll just need the the back case ( the correct one😁), new indicator unit and bottom mirror. I'm almost looking forward to doing it😄
