Any advice on how best to remove black marks on our sliding bathroom tambour door please?

Paint it black. 😂
sorry could not resist. Can you find what is rubbing on it and maybe make an adjustment. A car polish may remove black marks but it will rub again.

Is it a fairly new motorhome? If so it could be that the adhesive from the tambour door protective covering was not cleaned off fully in the manufacturing process.

Try either isopropyl or tar remover on a small area to see if it removes the surface contamination.

Yes, I think that’s what caused it, there is nothing on the shower wall for it to rub against.

Just as a follow up on this in case it helps others, van in for its hab service at Hartley’s at Ings, their valeter tried autoglym interior cleaner applied with an autoglym “magic sponge”, worked a treat! He recommended this for leather upholstery too so will be getting myself a supply.

It’s funny how simple things can please you so much!! 😀
