I have a large dometic heiki 2 vent / roof window..
I need to reseal around the frame. I can access the roof through the heiki and can open the perspex dome approx 45 deg. I can remove clean and reseal the rear and sides but the front section under the hinges requires the perspex cover to be removed. It is held in place by three hinges and a pair of gas struts which are glued/ sealed to the perspex. Each hinges has two screws .
Can I simply unscrew these and tilt the perspex dome away sufficiently to get at the front edge.or do the hinge pins pull out and replace easily?
Has anyone done this and do the hinge screws go back ok.

Thanks

Would it be best remove the complete roof light because the main sealing would be onto roof and not around the edges.
I know with the mini Heki you can remove it as a unit

Thanks .It could be but for the moment I just want to clean up and renew the sealant around the periphery of the vent as indicated.

I lifted ours by removing the pins through the hinge, (yours might not be the same though) once the pins were out tilting the roof mechanist simply lifted it up allowing access.

Thanks Martin .I edited the post to include removal and refitting of the hinge pins as an afterthought.. They appear to be slotted at the ends and probably have to be squeezed together and then pushed back to remove.

OK sounds like ours, yes just nip the ends and push out.
