Hi

ive inherited the pictured removable towbar with the MH purchased last year. Was wondering if there is a way it should lock or can be secured so it can’t just simply be removed along with whatever is attached to it.

Any advice on using it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Wife has one on her Peugeot estate car...

I don`t like them...

Have to make sure the slide in bit and locking system is dead clean...

Cos they will come orft/out, as I found out with a small`ish trailer, luckily I was still on my driveway...

PS........... Don`t know a way of locking them on,..

You would need to drill through the latch and fit a padlock. Even then, it will only delay a thief

Even on a fixed tow bar the ball is only held on with two bolts. Don’t worry about it just use it. What makes you think they will target your tow bar?

I don’t think the towbar will be targeted necessarily but if it has a bike rack attached, the whole lot could be lifted in seconds. Wouldn’t be so easy on my car’s fixed towbar with bikes locked on to the rack.

You could drop a lock and chain around the bikes and the fixed part of the tow bar. I could on mine.

I think there should be a black plastic safety cover with it that will only fit on the trigger mechanism if it is properly latched in place. Won’t help with security but makes sure you have fitted it safely.
