On our next trip to Europe starting at the end of this month my wife will be using our new Remoska. My wife has been practicing with the Remoska over last week and would be pleased if any other Remoska users could recommend a few recipes. We are very plain wholesome eaters. ( As my late farther in law used to say “non of that foreign muck” ) meaning spaghetti etc. I am sure some of you will offer some good old recipes to use in the Remoska.

Thanking you in advance.

I just treat mine as a mini oven and cook everything in it, roast chicken, baked potatoes, pasta bakes etc. I don't boil my pasta I make the meat sauce in the Remoska then add the pasta to cook in the sauce.

I think there’s already an extensive thread on this very topic; if you do a search I’m sure it’ll come up.

Have a look here.

We cook thinks like sausage casserole. I also make bread in it - using a packet bread mix. I've made scones before now. It makes a good yorkshire.

We have three Remoskas in the home kitchen and one in the van so we use them quite a bit and use them for anything that normally takes an oven. Used one at lunchtime to warm some scones up that were in the freezer and quite often have two on the go.

Do you use a loaf tin or just put the dough mix in the base ??

I have been experimenting with my standard Remoska over the past few weeks and have discovered that by using a cast iron famous French pot ,( whichI can't remember at the moment but it starts with C,) I can enhance the oven properties of the oven affected by heating the bottom, as well as the top, ( wasn't sure if I could heat the Remoska base ) and have been making some interesting Soda breads that include things like onion and cheese+ carrots, parsnips etc.

PS. The bread must be consumed within 3 days!

Just remember to use a baking paper or olive oil or it sticks!

Basically, just use it like a mini oven. Good Luck! 👍

My Remoska has been on the garage shelf for some years now, replaced by an IKEA portable Induction Hob and a decent saucepan.
I just bought a 2ltr Air Fryer from Aldi for £16.99...

I just put it on the base., so make a cob. Obviously the base is non stick and I dont grease it. I put the dough in the base for its final rise and then cook. You could make rolls and place them such that they would join together and then be pulled apart for consumption!

That's brilliant. Thank you so much for that tip, home made bread is back on the menu at our place:giggle:(y)

In the past we have used a Remoska for baking and a Slow Cooker for those Casseroles. We have since ditched the Remoska in favour of an Airfryer, (in fact we are in the process of removing the internal oven and replacing it with a two drawer Air Fryer. The slow cooker will always be our choice for Chilli's, Bolognese Curries etc.
