Remis Vario 1 rooflight lifting mechanism

Struggling to sort out the drive mechanism on a 60 x 90 Remis Vario 1 rooflight. I saw that some members posted (a few years ago) having stripped it down and reversed the cords - I'd really appreciate some more details and/or photos of how to do this!

Thanks! I have managed to take the stupid thing apart, and the problem is that cords (pipe-cleaners) are worn, as suggested by another member. Failing finding replacements, the solution would be to reverse them so that another part is in contact with the drive gears. But I can't figure out how to change the end stop to the other end - it seems to be moulded on.........
