During the hot summer sun my Remis screen blinds magnetic strip, that clamps them together, lost much of its sticky back. The result was the magnetic strip began to come away from the blinds and over time broke in places as they are very brittle.
The only stockist I know are the excellent Leisure Shop Direct, they have always been most helpful. I ordered from their catalogue a set of magnetic strips from Remis. They are 3 mm thick and sit in a channel. Remis sent 1.5mm thick which cannot make contact. Apparently they still supply 3 mm strips but not to the UK agent anymore.
If anyone has a solution I would be most grateful.
Remis do not supply to individuals only trade.
Does anyone else sell Remis parts?
L.S.D. Sent my money back.

Having had the same problem, I use a little loop of velcro tape around the handles. Works a treat.

For anything magnetic I always use these.

They are bound to have something or can usually suggest a fix.

Just collected my brand new van last Friday and first night, the front Remis magnetic strip came away! The tackiness obviously not very tacky - I’ve stuck it back on and held it firmly and so far 2nd and 3rd night away it’s held, so we’ll see how well it stays on? 😠

Double it up, makes 3mm then..

The original Remis part was 7mm wide, 3mm thick and 800 mm long.
It had a line down one edge to show polarity and had an adhesive back.
Getting really close with some of the above, thanks.
I tried doubling up but it did not grip as hoped for.

You can buy double sided sticky tape with a foam core that is around 1 or 2mm thick from most Chinese bazaars. Stick the magnetic strip on with that?

The magnetic strip on one of the Remis side windows came loose and I stuck it back with a hot glue gun.

Our front blinds didn't quite line up when we got the van, so until I sorted that out, I used a festival wrist band round the two handles.

We had a similar problem and my solution was to gorilla glue them in place. Worked for the last year or so, so far. 👍🏻

I used magnetic tape from amazon. I just used scissors to cut the width and length I needed. Still going strong after 30+ degrees in Europe this year.

Mine have just lost their magnetism, so I use an elastic band or a cable tie in a loop, has worked for last 5 years.

We have Remis blinds for the front windows of our Hymer. Far to much faffing about. They are secured back with their own clips. I fitted a roller blind each side that simply pulls down and up. The remaining small triangles of glass are filled with a thin plywood sheet painted white that simply sits in place for the duration of our stay and is retained by the roller blind.
Its so much easier to live with.
The roller blinds are bespoke and ordered from a company via Hammerzoom.
Good luck.
