Well sadly, it appeared one guy got the recall notice 3 days late. It ended well but could have been disastrous! The Motorhome Matt Podcast interviewed him a couple of days ago.

Interesting to have the incident explained and the KS Energy response. Big shame for the Adria owner that the recall didn’t reach him in time. However it is good to note that KS didn’t do the sloping shoulder thing and pretend that it was someone else’s problem or fault. It seems their insurance has paid out fully for the Adria that went up in flames.
Would I still buy a KS Energy under seat battery? Yes. I have a Malibu Van on order and the dealer suggested this battery before the fire and recall and I haven’t changed my mind. I could if I wanted to because the van won’t be available until June (ish). All batteries have power packed into them and have the potential to cause fires and I find the KS response reassuringly honest. I suspect they are also going to be very thorough in future about all the components that go into their batteries.
