Touring in Shropshire prior to NEC, one hill too many. Chugging away in front of a queue of traffic once too often. Anticipation helps and "taking a run at it" is not always possible.
Searching the forum indicates a straight software update or a rolling road use are the options.
Which solution would members recommend. Quantum or someone like TH Performance for a Pendle remapp?

My previous MH was a peugeot 2.0 diesel (2021) Bailey coachbuilt and had similar issues, £250 and a remap with Quantum sorted it. Told the bloke I wasn't after speed just being able to keep in the higher gears and not have to drop into 3rd all the time on hills. Mind you could have done with a further tweak at the lower end as it was quite easy to do a wheelspin from start off lol.

Forgot to say, current MH is same base but think the engines the 165 as opposed to the 160 and no issues I can't live with. Still drop a gear on hills but only 6th to 5th rarely 4th and certainly not 3rd! And this is on a larger MH albeit only 40cm and wider (Advance to Autograph).

I would recommend Quantum as their technician will download your programme from the ECU then send to to the programmers at HQ for a reformat and update to your requirements, all in around an hour.

I would first ask have they any experiance of tunning the twin egr models as many tunners avoid them . I may be different now but a friend had difficulty getting what he wanted.

Do you tell your insurance snd if so does it affect your premium. Was told must inform them because insurance company can ask for ecu details and will know if it’s been remapped if in accident. Looking to get mine done.

I have a tuning box from tdi, which works well and has 7 different settings, currently using setting 5 in Spain it pulls well at 55-60, up motorway hills and is giving about 29mpg in those situations pulling a 5t tag.
The reason I went for a box this time is that on a previous car I went for a map, which I was not over happy about, It caused a lot of extra smoke when using the power (it did go like stink though!) I went back and they did adjust, but it then seemed like minimal benefit. At least with a box it is easily removable.
I have informed my insurance company and provided it is less than a 30% gain in power they weren't interested. Probably in the same way they are not interested in what engine is fitted, all they look at is the value.

Hi, what engine is your motorhome, i am looking at improving the Ducato 2.3 130bhp 2012 6 speed i have on a 3.5t body without the hassle of a garage remap just a plug in, are there others you looked at other than TDI Tuning?

Get it mapped for increased torque ( bhp will come with that ) it’s that , that counts on the van.
The insurance will want to know but ours just noted it as it has become a common practice.
