I've never had a vehicle remapped before (never had the need) so I'm a newb in this area of technology.

Is it sufficient to go to a company such as Celtic or Quantum, they have told me they send a mobile tech out to do a software change using a map thats already been worked out for this vehicle?

or do I need to find and to go to a company with their own rolling road - is there any material benefit?

I've already had the insurance company conversation and they are fine with it, so long as its done by a recognised company specialising in remapping.

To do the job properly a remap should be done with the assistance of a rolling road tuning specialist. But in all honesty that's a bit over the top for a motorhome.
I had ours done by a Quantum guy at one of the shows, a good few years ago now, and all he did was firstly copy the existing map onto his laptop then download a replacement from Quantum which he loaded into the ECU. 30mins job.
It upped the power from 130 to 156 (he said) and made it significantly better to drive, less changing down for hills (3850kg MAUW) plus quieter and smoother. I got about 2mpg (8%) improvement in fuel consumption, by consciously driving the same as before. There are a couple of choices, better performance, better fuel economy or a general improvement, which is what I went for.
Now got 154000 miles on it and still runs as good as it ever did.

Celtic & Quantum etc. just load a generic map that any other remapper would use but add a very limited warranty. A rolling road tune in a FWD 3.5t Moho is pretty meaningless as there are no real dynamic factors that can be taken into account in the mapping.
