Hiya funsters, has anyone had to make a claim on their red pennant personal health travel insurance while abroad?

Yes my mother broke her wrist in 2018 just before we were due to leave France - resulted in her needing a plate. RP were outstanding in their service to us - and follow-up. I would highly recommended - even though it is much more expensive now that she is >80! Would not travel without it.

Not personally but my friend had stroke at Alcossebre and the treatment he received was second to none
He had a private hospital room , and when he was discharged and passed fit to travel Red Pennant flew him and his partner home and collected his Motorhome from site on a low loader and it arrived undamaged at his home address 10 days later

yes sounds similar to our experience. Straight into a private hospital, operation carried out later that day, and great aftercare. I had to pay for the appointment to see the anesthetist, and the excess on the operation (if I remember correctly), the dressings from chemist, and the splint which was made up for her at an orthopedic specialist(much more convenient than a plaster cast) - but that was very quickly refunded in full once we returned to uk.

Hi.
Mate Brian Stocks had a health scare while in France with car and c/van. R.P.Were straight in .Same Super service as the above posts, car and c/van repatriated seamlessly. We did pay to be covered, but never needed it thankfully.

Not been abroad for some years, but when we did took out RP. Had to use it on a few occasions, son broke wrist and elbow, husband had problems with his back and with his insulin. Always really helpful.

Claimed on Nationwide Flex account back in 2017,,settled very quickly,,much cheaper I think than Red Pennant, BUSBY.

Yes, it was a really good deal for car + caravan and both of us for £170.... Now though it's been hiked up, due to mums advancing years. If she was still under 80 it wouldn't have been much more than we paid in 2018. It's worth it though for peace of mind.

Absolutely,it's just that when l looked into RP,they have a great track record ,but it identified their claims are dealt with by Collins ons Group, and reviews for them are very very bad.!!

Had the same problem recently Van just over 2 years old thought it was covered by warranty they that is fiat dealers did the job replaced ecu price 440 quid robbing gits they even told me it was a well known issue but no recall from fiat found out later crash data will sort unit for about 90 quid I guess you live and learn 😉

Maybe but it would still be less than half price I also believe they have a pretty good reputation so chances are they would probably be alittle sympathetic if that were the case

We're due to go away at the end of the month, but my mum is suffering with a severe first attack of gout. Difficult getting help here from surgery but I realised this evening that if it gets really bad in France at least we should be able to see a doc!
