Hi
We are heading to Sun works to get new solar panel fitted before heading down to Portugal .
They are located just north of Bordeaux
SunWorks
1 Place de l'eglise
17160 Louzignac
France
We arrive in Calais off the Eurotunnel at 09:55 and would like to ask if anyone has recommendation of place for night stop enroute with dog .

Thanks

How far do you want to travel, what route and for how long and at what cost (tolls)?

Nonancourt by the town hall. Nice Park to exercise the dog, short walk to town. Also a Lidl, Aldi,Le Clerc. It's about 305km from Calais.

Pont de l'Arche just south of Rouen is a favourite with us - free until 31 March. If you want a longer drive Chateaudun has 6 spaces but it's quite popular.
We just drive until we've had enough and then check out the various apps - never failed to find somewhere suitable yet.

Our route - Calais, Abbeville (use the toll, it's not worth trying to avoid it) then Rouen. Watch for turnoff to Evreux*, Dreux, Chartres, Chateaudun (bypass if you're not stopping) N10 Tours (see tip below) D910 Poitiers, Angouleme, Bordeaux. Mostly dual carriageway, follow green-backed signs, signposted all the way

To avoid going through Tours as you approach on D910 take the ring road D801, SP aeroport and A10, at a big roundabout. Join A10 then stay on it for the first peage section (97cents!) then exit onto D910 again.

*I think it's the third exit after the tunnel but signposted. On slip keep to middle to turn left at the lights then bear right at next but one lights, follow river. Then follow Pont de l'Arche and on to A/N154.

Possibly somewhere between Rouen and Le Mans
Le Mans - straight down the A28 - 4.5 hours from Calais
Its up a steep hill from the Aire but a lovely place to have a look around.

Aire du Camping Car, Le Mans
Quai Louis Blanc
72100 Le Mans
France

We often bc stop at Aire de Baie de Somme when we arrive at that sort of time

Getting off the ferry at that time then I would suggest Marboue or Chatauedun. Have a look at Camping-car infos. It is a French site listing all the Aires but easily understood or translated

Is that the one a few kilometres before Chateaudun? We always check it out in case Chateaudun is full.
No forget that, I'm thinking of Marboue which has an aire right on the river too.

Edit: just had another look at the map, wasn't aware there was another one there. Will check it out next time.

(Oh and by the way, it's the Loir, no "e". That one's a good bit further south.)

Would be a nice park if people didn't use it to exercise their dog

It's not the exercising the dog that's the problem, it's the owner who who doesn't clean up after their dogs. There's a bin on site with free bags.
