Hopefully be in Lisbon early next week and looking to spend a couple of days there, I’ve looked on sfs and p4n and a lot of reports of vans being broken into. I don’t mind using a site of anyone can recommend an easy access to city.

It’s not everyone’s cup of tea but the old munitions factory is pretty safe with a bus stop close by for easy access to the city centre. Pretty easy to get to off the motorway as well. It’s on P4N and S4S south of Parque das Nações and close to the riverside.

We visited Lisbon we stayed in the carpark next to the fire station at Cacilhas across the estuary from Lisbon. It's €2 of 24hrs, but it is just a carpark with no services, but has plenty of space for MH's.
A ten minute walk to the ferry which drops you off on the Lisbon waterfront. The ferry crossing was €3.50 return.
On your way down to the ferry you will find an old sailing frigate which is worth a look around for an hour.

Thanks for the replies, I’ve also did a search on here so have a few ideas now. Carpmart did you visit recently if so how did you get on at ferry terminal?

we stayed on a site in the beautiful town of Cascais, We then scootered in, about 20 mins, but regular trains too and you ar away from the worry of your van.
We spent time there looking at where my mum and my family grew up before she moved to th UK in the 1960s. I hadn't been there since we were kids, it's a beautiful city.

We also stayed at the fire station at Cacilhas just make sure you have change for the barrier, we didn’t so had to run around to get some. Other than that it felt safe and is convenient for the centre of Lisbon. We had an excellent fish platter in one of the restaurants opposite the ferry terminal.

Sadly no we didn’t. The problems with the fires put us off going… next Sept it is definitely happening! 🤣

Please let us know how you get on with the ferry and ferry carpark! ✔️

There is a new Aire being built next to the ferry terminal at seixal, that is probably open now,
But we used the ferry terminal car park and had no problem, there is a nominal charge per day and the barrier is left open overnight, plenty of room and very quiet at night,
This was February this year

In red is the new Aire and yellow is the ferry car park

Thanks for the replies, plenty to think about but the ferry terminal seems good, I was searching that far out as never been before 😂😂

I can't recommend the airport. ;)

After BA shifted our flight from Faro to Lisbon but only gave everyone 2 hours to kame the journey a night there isn't much fun!

We also stayed at the Orbitur site at Cascais here
Pool, bar, showers, laundry etc.

Frequent Bus into the very nice town of Cascais from right outside the camp gates
(or an uber)

Then DLR type of train into central Belem and Lisbon.

We spent a day looking around in Cascais, a day looking around in Belem and two days looking around Lisbon and a day walking and cycling around the area.
So what we had intended on being 2-3 nights ended up being a week.

Another vote for Seixal here. Very convenient.

Paul
