I'm looking for a battery pack, portable charger Main use charging iPhones, iPads etc but occasional mains output would be useful. Any recommendations greatly appteciated, or indeed any to avoid;)

Anker, ecoflow, jackery and bluetti all have their advocates. Some will be better and more expensive than others. How you use the 240 built in inverter, as well as your budget, will be important for your choice. i will be going down the anker route.

You could make your own for a lot less and be able to integrate it into your motorhome with a bit of thinking, especially as you are not looking for a massive amount of power from it. It's essentially a battery and an inverter plus a means of charging the battery, which you might not need depending on if you have a battery charger at home.
It won't be anywhere near as convenient as an all one commercially available setup, but it will be a lot cheaper...

It always surprises me when I hear of how convenient they are when used in a caravan for the weekend, when it's quite simple and a lot cheaper to connect a battery that's been charged up at home and integrate it into the wiring layout via an inverter (which can be permanently installed). A 300ah battery is prob a similar price to a 'power pack'

Jackery units are all Lion I believe.
We recently purchased an Ecoflow Delta 2 max which has made us self sufficient for the four or five days at a time we spend off grid. It uses LiFePo4 batteries.

We suffer many power cuts each year so will be ideal for use in Toadifact Towers too. We are very impressed with unit so far in terms of performance and build quality. A five year warranty seals the deal.

One downside is the weight. 23kg is a fair lump for one of shall I say ... not so tender years.

Work out what you want to power from 230v, and make your decision from there. Big batteries and big inverters are expensive.

Powering my coffee machine (1500W) was top of my list, so I bought an Ecoflow Delta 2 (max 1800W). But decent units are also available from Anker and Jackery.

I may upgrade the van to lithium in the future, but the ecoflow meets my needs at the moment.

We have 6 x Anker 555s and they're fantastic for charging laptops. We can charge 7 laptops twice from flat.
Not sure how many times it would do an iPad buy more than a weekends worth I'd say.
Only issue with the 555 is the wattage peak is 1kw but would be plenty for a travel kettle.

Why not just buy one of the new small jump start units, some of them phone charging facility and, with winter approaching, might help in an emergency?
