Hi, I have 6.5m motorhome that we bought last year (72 reg) and I want to give it a good clean and polish. Only ever used the old faithfull fairy liquid on cars before so would like to get some recommendations as to what to use. My thoughts are to polish it to make look good but also maybe easier to keep clean in future.
Any ideas?

The problem with washing up liquid it contains a lot of salt to bulk it out so leaves white blemishes when dry 👍

There is a whole forum of Motorhome Fun for motorhome washing and polishing etc, called Motorhome Detailing, which is what the washing/polishing geeks call it. Have a browse round there, anyone who's seen my motorhome won't want to take any advice from me. ::bigsmile:

Washing up liquid! What bad knee said! I wouldn't go anywhere near any vehicle with washing up liquid, just use whatever car shampoo floats your boat. It's as much how you do it as what you do it with (ooerr missus!)

Screwfix do a "no nonsense " wash and wax ,
I've used it on industrial metal clad buildings, they are prone to atmospheric dirt, it cleaned them off a treat, and left them shiny, not perfect, but some of the buildings were 30 years old !! As a rule we washed a building every 3 years. Don't be tempted to use anything harsh as although it might make it cleaner initially, that comes at a cost of biting into the pigment , and a subsequent loss of lustre from then on. At the cost of the no nonsense wash and wax, you can be generous with it and wash more frequently.
Whilst the paintwork still has a nice shine, put a coat of Maguires [ or similar] ceramic coating on it, that really beads the water off, and makes subsequent cleaning much easier.
Mike.
