Hi. I have a low rear opening door to my storage area in the MH. It is only about 10 inches high but is the full width of the vehicle. The MH has a towbar fitted which I want to keep. The problem is long before the rear door is fully open it hits the tow ball. The door is hinged at the bottom. I was thinking of replacing the original hinges with flight case hinges so I can detach the rear door and get full access to the storage area. Has anyone done this and if so can you recommend where I could get hinges. The only ones I can find are too small to support the door. I cant use the type that separate by sliding sideways as there is not room to slide the door sideways.
Thanks
Tim

Would something like this do the job. You pull the two pins towards the centre to release the two halves of the hinge.

Yes, that would. Thank you. Where do they come from and what are they called.

would fitting them not make it easy for a thief to just lift the door off ?

or.. remove hinges , drill two holes on the frame of the aperture.. and fit locating pins on the bottom edge of the door.

Caravan removable gas locker doors are often fitted like that

not a very good example but shows what I meant

Thank you all for the ideas. Amazon USA looks like a good bet.The rear door locks so even if the hinges were undone the potential thief would still have to break the door and I guess anyone willing to do that would come equip t to do so. It is a fairly weak fiberglass door. I like the gas locker door arrangement. When I have done it I will post photos.
Thanks again all.
