Mot due tomorrow found both rear lights not working
All other lights ok reversing, license plate indicator all side lights etc
Checked both bulbs are ok, checked earth to chassis on bulb connections are good.
Unable to find a fuse that just does the rear lights.
No warning light on dash to say bulb out.
Could this be a can bus issue using standard light bulbs not led

Any ideas guys running out of time thanks

I had an issue with the number plate lights on my Aviano. If you look under the rear bumper / apron whatever you want to call it. You should be able to see the wiring, it runs across the back of the motorhome and up into the rear lights. You will have a bad connection its just a matter of finding it.

Thanks for that, but no wires showing underneath as they seem to go internally in the body, I had both light pods off to check & both seem ok. All othe4 lights within the cluster are working fine

A common problem is the multipug that connects the Fiat loom to the converters rear light loom . Normally towards the rear on the chassis.

As it’s a multi plug would it only affect the 2 rear lights?

It has all the connections to all the rear lights.
Common faults pins corroded, pins pushed back in the housing not making contact with the socket.

Ah ok thanks but no idea where this plug/socket is as all wires are routed internally.
Burstner are renowned for running cables in inexcessable areas

Due to it being can bus system any short in the system will stop the ECM providing power to it, so a extra side warning LED light with a bit of water in, or leaky connection can stop the others on that feed.

I’m not seeing any water ingress to any light fitting, the 2 non working rear lights are at the top of each light pod as in picture

Now booked in for a service before the MOT hopefully they can find the issue

My issue was small LED lights along the side. Disconnect it and rears worked, then replaced side one with new unit and all good.

No idea why but checked this morning & the lights all working. Passed its MOT
ecu was replaced under the Fiat extended warranty so no charge
