In case anyone doesn't know ( we found out from a post on here :xThumb:) membership of your local library usually gives access to a digital magazine (& newspapers) service for free - in our area it's Libby & works well with a good choice of magazines. For huge access there's Readly which opens a whole new world of reading - the monthly subscription has just increased from £7.99 to £9.99 but currently 2 months free https://gb.readly.com/ so long as you remember to cancel the subscription which it automatically goes to after that.
There is also a Xmas Gift Card offer (from Timeout magazine) https://gb.readly.com/giftcards/chr...s&utm_campaign=timeout_gb_giftcards_christmas that should have expired but reported to be still working - go via Quidco for up to £20.72 cashback (not guaranteed) & a years subscription is £76.40 so £6.36 per month even without cashback.
Hope that might be useful for someone & Happy New Year! There's likely to be a few online bargains today :xsmile:

I'm looking at the 12 months gift card it looks cheaper over a year than the two months free

Another digital magazine subscription is Magzter which via this link https://www.magzter.com/magztergold/offer?utm_source=cj-cps&cjevent=728003046afe11ec804b18ab0a18050d offers a year's Gold subscription discounted to £30. Don't know if it is as good as Readly though - worth checking the ones they each list e.g. Readly has Radio Times but Magzter doesn't although has other TV magazines.
This is a wild card cheaper option for Magzter Broken Link Removed & have read that if you use a card without fees it makes 1 year subscription just £16.83 (or for 3 years cheaper again pro rata) but not tried this! Have read elsewhere that others have done this successfully but until some on here have then not trusted source.
EDIT: use code brandnew to discount price even more - an extra $3-$8 taken off :)
Hopefully there are some on here that can advise more or give feedback about Magzter & Readly subscriptions?

I was amazed the other week to discover that our local library - North Somerset - includes free online access to no less than 355 UK monthly magazine titles, which includes MMM & Practical Motorhome; together with all of the motoring mags etc. (y)

We also have those from our library access (y) - it's possible to ask for new ones to be added although no guarantees unless others ask for them too. For us these have only been available recently when library changed to Libby subscription whereas before it was much more limited & every area varies depending on how much the local library service allow budget wise & who chooses the magazine categories covered.

Thanks Wombles - I decided to take the plunge with the Magzter £30 for a 1 year subscription. (I have had Readly previously so knew roughly what to expect). There are in excess of 5000 titles there which include what looks like most of the Women's magazines, loads of motoring mags (including Top Gear, AutoExpress etc) , Men's & Women's health and fitness, music, House and Home, Fashion etc etc together with niche hobby type interests.
I was also surprised that they even have our local and regional newspapers. In my view, it was worth the punt and will be useful when out and about in the van as you can download and save for offline reading via their app.

Just spotted Magzter (as well as Readly) has a 40% (!) cashback offer via Quidco too but don't know if that would work in conjunction with the discounted rate - worth a try though!
One Readly subscription can be used by up to 5 people/devices & Magzster Gold by 4 extra too so that may be useful for some.

Sounds good - please do let us know how easy it is to use compared to Readly when you have time.

This is all news to me and am not sure I follow it all. But I'll be down to our local library as soon as they open for the new year. Thanks Karen (or Allen) or both. Oh, and a Happy New Year to all

UPDATE: Use code january for 15% discount so an extra $4.50-$12 taken off (y)

The 3 year Magzter Gold deal via Groupon AU in post #5 using 15% discount code january has been working out at £36.62 total at most (one subscription for up to 5 users) with cards that don't charge for paying via other currencies. No need to set up a Groupon account just checkout as a Guest.

If not a Saga member (still 4 months free then £9.99 per month if continued) then 3 months free via the Readly link from MSE https://gb.readly.com/mse22?irclick...es&utm_campaign=MoneySavingExpert.com&irgwc=1 at the moment with 12 months at £8.99 instead of £9.99 per month for the next 12 months if continued.
UK Magzter Gold £30 a year https://www.magzter.com/magztergold/offer?utm_source=cj-cps&cjevent=728003046afe11ec804b18ab0a18050d with possible Quidco then click on Offers on website.
Au Magzter wildcard above still working with code brandnew so $71.99 for 3 years access.
Local library access may be free but could be limited or all you want.

UPDATE: Some libraries have changed today from Libby to BorrowBox - it does give a much wider range of e-books & audiobooks as well as a good range of magazines & papers (even some regional ones) but only Practical Motorhome for motorhomers not MMM which is a shame. If you want this added if it's also missing from your libraries BorrowBox, or any other missing publication then, do like us, email support@bolindadigital.com & don't forget to mention which library service you are with as they may add it.
If your access to Libby has ended & you aren't already using BorrowBox through them you need to go back to your library website & follow the instructions there.
