Hi,

Can anyone tell me what the best way to plumb a waste pipe/drain tap into my waste tank is. On this old motorhome I've bought, its currently a right mishmash of hose connectors and gaffer tape and is leaking bad. So I've stripped it all off and cleaned it up and am left with the following parts (See pictures)

All the grey bits are the same size so i need a way of connecting them. The previous owners used the black connectors as you can see in the pictures, but they don't seem to be the right device as they don't seem to seal properly when pushed into the grey parts, and jubilee clips aren't the best on hard plastic. They've also had to shave one of the rings down to make them fit :/

Any pointers would be great.

Am i best just replacing the lot with something far simpler, if so what?

Cheers all

Are you trying to plumb it back in with that flexi pipe.
They go brittle over time so would scrap that.
You will need some 28mm rigid pipe, elbow and make a strap bracket to support it.
sorry poor images but you get the idea,

This is the very simple set up on mine ... pipe, valve and jubilee clips bought at our local garden pond suppliers. Pipe is more cooperative if you dunk it in very hot water. I've also got a length of extension pipe that with an in line joint on it that pushes in when required.

Be sure it's clipped up before you do any reversing ...

Is there any decent ideas for a solid bracket top hold the tap at its final point. The chassis is a bit too far in to just use a piece of flat bar coming down, and i dont want to fix anything to the motorhomes molded plastics round the edges. Whats the general done thing? Will I have to get something custom made?

I would fit either a 32mm or 40mm system 40mm is best for good drainage CAK tanks stock a good range.
I ended up finding a local supplied that sells the 28mm stuff which is anice tight fit into the current drain tap.

For the tap you could fit a motorised valve & then if you fit a service camera no need to leave the drivers seat when dumping.
This is mine,

Seen this before.....ace idea. What camera did you use that will live up to the task down in that area of mud and spray?

I intend to add a T piece then running pipes out to both sides with two taps so I can dump either side.

If it helps, here's my solution for the pipework, using the different pipes as mentioned by others and a different adaptor (I think it's this one!) for the tap (spaced out to show the parts, and please ignore the colour disparity!):-

can't help with the bracket, I'm afraid because I made something from 4 small B&Q angle-brackets to attach under/behind the little sill of my Ducato.
