Re-applying for C1 licence

Hi all, I'm 78 and from age 70 to 76 I had a licence for C1. I sold my motorhome so didn't bother with C1 when I needed to renew (April '21). My current licence (without C1) expires in April '24. I've bought an '04 Autotrail Cheyenne and the log book says: 'Private HGV' so I think I need C1 to drive it.

Can I renew my licence early to include C1? (I'm aware of the medical requirements)

I can't find any relevant information on the government website, all it says is about retaining C1 after you turn 70.

Can apply once you’ve done the medical. Just fill in the relevant paperwork- D2/D4.

Yes, and providing there are no health issues, and the forms are completed correctly, you should receive your C1 within a couple of weeks at most. The soonest applied, for the better.
