We gave a new a class rapido 8096 , if we unlock the doors via the key fob and enter via the hab door the central locking relocks the van after about 1 minute but if we open the passenger front door it doesnt . Does this sound normal and if so has anyone found themselves locked out?

Never happened to us, we have the i1090 Distinction and once unlocked with the key fob it stays unlocked regardless of which door you enter.

I’m thinking that it may be an option when programming the fob possibly.

Do you use the Fiat key fob or the alarm specific one?

Hi al, we use the fiat remote, I understand that the locking reactivated if no doors are opened. Have also had a warning on the dash while driving to say a door is open and to engage park on the transmission so maybe it's all linked together somehow.
Thanks for you're input maybe this is for the dealer to sort out

Is it one of the new series 8 fiats, if so then they added this feature (fiat side) most manufacturers use original fiat wiring for front cab doors but that’s it and rest is done from aftermarket relays so that’s why that door stops the auto re lock. A dealer should have a fix for this as carthago had same issue for all their new fiats but came out with a patch less to stop in very fast

Its not supposed to happen that way, although ours does too.

I contacted Rapido direct, and they said dealership will sort, so will ask them to on its next visit.

Hi west, yes and no but we had to find a compromise somewhere, the sonic was a bit too long for us , parking on the drive was always tight and off grid parking had to be researched to find suitable spots, early days with this at 7.5m but seems easier. This is on the 9sp auto which is far superior to the comformatic although that never gave us any issues. The bed and seats in the adria were very firm and I got a numb bum after driving for more than an hour and now sleep a lot better.
We wanted an a class with large garage fixed beds and new in our budget the choice is limited, rapido or burstner was the only 2 that fitted. Overall build quality I would say is very similar , adria do use slightly more upmarket fittings and a creative use of space.
With the adria value slowly decreasing and new prices never going to fall in the same way it was now or never really to make the change..
Overall we are happy with the rapido on the fiat , we did prefer the merc but couldnt really justify the extra 10k although swmbo did prefer the kitchen layout on the merc .
The only issue upto now is the central locking, whether this can be deactivated or the software patched we will have to see.

Just some food for thought re. Central locking, I disarmed mine (removed the fuse) because I didn’t want the hab and garage doors unlocking whilst I was unlocking the drivers door on the other side of the van, I thought it was very possible that an unauthorised person might take advantage of the unlocked doors to attempt entry.

If they had put some effort in there should be 2 feeds on any standard panel van.One press of the top button on my transit unlocks the front cab doors. The side loading & rear doors remain locked. If I wish to unlock either of those I press the lower button which does that but leaves the cab doors locked

Our is a Le voyageur that had the same problem the fault was wiring in the wrong connector on the builder connection block in the driver side A pillar I fixed myself after talking it through with the dealership, it was a tight fit to get my big hands in to access it but only took about 10 minutes so not worth a two hour drive to them.

I just posted this based on my own experience:
