Had a motorhome, caravan tent for almost 40 yrs now, never been to a rally. Keep herring about them so thought I might come along to 1 or 2 next yr. So how do I go about it? What do you do on them? How much do they cost ? And I don't like bingo.

Bingo is very rare on a Fun rally. Dont have time, to busy in a pub somewhere.. (y)

Keep an eye on the scheduled rallies section. https://www.motorhomefun.co.uk/forum/forums/scheduled-rallies.272/
Unlike clubs that have commitee's most Fun rallies are arranged by one or two members and so the rally is based on how they want to run it and the number of people they want to attend to make it managable.
As we dont hold many they do get booked up quickly, Also there are FUN sections at most of the motorhome shows.

Easter at Pershore has just gone live and there are places available.
Swaffam is maybe the next big meet in May, a long way for you BUT only £17 per person and thats for 4 nights stay. Good charity fundraiser.
Hereford and Drax are also some of the larger and popular ones.

Many smaller ones do take place so you need to keep a watch.

Tonka has just beaten me to recommending the Swaffham Bash, it is a nice one to start at, details are here. There are different things going on during the long weekend and it is within a short walk of the town.

The rallies are all different and all offer different things, it is a chance to meet fellow Funsters, explore different areas and join in as much or as little as you want. If there was bingo (it's rare) you don't have to play if you don't want to.

Star off by just saying “hello” to the Motorhomers around you. After all you have something in common.
You’re all Funsters!

Done Highlands End twice, Topsham and Doncaster . Met some lovely people and had a great laugh. Booked Swaffham as that appears to be a ‘must do’.
Just go for it.

We went to Quackers Easter rally last year, it was our first one and we were made to feel very welcome. Swaffham is another good one for a first rally. We have found it’s up to you how much/little you want to join in. Have fun and enjoy.

Norden Farm is another nice one. It is based on a proper campsite and is very relaxed. You book directly with the site, with a discount if you book before 31st December. There are sometimes informal get togethers in the evenings but no pressure to join in if you don't want to, plus there is loads to do from the site, either via foot, bike or bus, to explore the local area. The Funsters have a field on the site to ourselves, so we are all camped together.

Details here

Yes, it was a great meet this year and hopefully we’ll be there next year.

Thanks. Would have booked norden, but
We will be away march, April and may, possibly early June. So have jan, Feb, June ( late), July and 1st week august. Does any one know of a good one in that time period. Or one to look out for

Drax is the 1st week of August, it's fully booked at the moment but you can go on the reserve list and places often come up, as there are currently only 6 people on the reserve list, you stand a very good chance of getting in.

Hereford is another nice one at the end of June/beginning of July, it's also currently fully booked with 10 people already on the reserve list but again you may well get in, as people drop out.
