Today I started researching why the radio on my Series 8 Ducato was so appalling - DAB and FM. I decided to remove the radio and take a peek.
On removal I was astonished at the rats nest behind with 3 FM aerials, bare wires and two DAB aerials, not one of them working properly. I have an Xzent radio which, if I am to believe all the posts, is rubbish however, is it the radio or is it the installation?
I have tidied up the cabling and identified everything except for one cable. I have two questions please my fellow funsters.
1. Does anyone have a recommendation and link for a steering wheel control harness ?
2. Does anyone know what the red cable in the attached picture is for?
Thanks in advance.

I'd be interested to know where you plug in 3 FM and 2 dab aerials.
Every radio I ever saw had just one aerial socket.
That red lead could be the power feed and electric aerial.

Today I gave up complaining to the supplier of the vehicle and decided to resolve the issue myself. Each time it has gone in for a resolution to the poor FM and DAB it would appear they have fitted a new aerial cable and left the "old" one in. I am flabbergasted but now realise the dealership are our of their depth.

So not an actual 'rats nest' then!! @@🤣🤣🤣

If it has DAB it will have a seperate socket I can't remember the type but it's a small bass connector.

Thanks - I've identified the 2 DAB Aerials so it doesn't appear to be DAB. Land Andy thinks it could be GPS.
What a bloody mess it all is.

The red connector looks very similar to a FAKRA dab female connector that is common on lots of EU manufactured vehicles. You can get adaptors to patch it into the head unit DAB input socket.
