Some of you may have seen my post regarding my problems tuning my Cello TV to FreeSat. Now that I have proved that the Cello TV was the problem and I know that my old Avtex TV is definitely tuned to Astra 2 by connecting it to a fixed Sky dish to tune it in, I find I cannot find the satellite with my QS65. Could it be that my QuickSat is faulty as well? I used to be able to set up the dish and hit the satellite signal first time in the past but that was before the satellite footprint was reduced. Does anyone else have trouble finding the satellite these days?

I have noticed that one end of the co-axial cable no longer screws up tight because the inner core projects too much. How that can have happened, I have no idea. Could this be the problem?

Also, The skew is around -20 degrees where I live. Does it matter how exact the skew is? There are no markings on the back of the dish to help with setting the skew. Help!

By the way, Falcon who now own QuickSat and Cello have not responded to my queries regarding the QS65.

Perhaps your QS65 needs an update as the transponder frequencies may have changed🤔

Thanks, Speve but I am not aware that transponders need updated. Sky didn’t do it when the Astra satellite reduced its footprint.

My Oyster dish is constantly being updated in fact only today it performed an update😊 and your sky dish doesn’t move from one place to another on a regular basis🤔

My problem is not with a Sky dish. I just used that to check that my tv was tuned properly. My problem is with a QuickSat portable dish. It is just a bit of hardware and has no software as far as I can tell.

So I assume you take the positioning from a smart phone app could that app need updating?🤔

I use more than one App just to make sure. I have to say that is another source of confusion - they can give different elevation and skew settings!
