I changed all my Victron kit a few months ago and I've succesfully connected an Orion XS, a 500a SmartShunt to the RaspPi but if I connect a cable to the VE.Direct port of my SmartSolar 100/30, it just switches it off! The SmartSolar 75/10 worked fine previously.

I have to admit, I made the cables up myself so if anyone has succesfully connected a 100/30, I'll just have to buy the OEM cables

TIA

All my VE.Direct cables are homemade, have you made yours not using the red positive wire as the Ras Pi is 5v and the MPPT controllers are 3v ?, also have you done the cross over of the TX to the RX.

I followed advice from OldAgeTravellers and bought the isolated port from Duppa with the JST connectors and a couple of cables from them.

Worked like a charm

Got mine are watching Andy from the Off-grid Garage video. I'm using two of them, as I have six devices connected to my Pi.
Initially tried a 7 way USB hub, but it was very unstable.

No, I just made it up as usual Paul so thanks for the heads up

So after sorting the SmartSolar, my next challenge is the IP22  I believe there are internal pins but not presented externally as VE.Direct! Has anyone had success with this one?

My IP22 is the 12/20 single output, and I looked at connecting it to the VE.Direct bus, but my charger only had 4 pins on the 6pin header and was missing the 3.3v pin, so gave up going any further.
I take it that you have read this thread on the community.victron.com wesite ?
