Apologies for the longish post.

I am lucky to be able to take early retirement in a few months at the spritely young age of 58 and we are looking to acquire the 3rd, and last well for a while, motorhome.

I have been doing a bit, ok a lot of research and viewings of Motorhome’s over the last 6 months and have worked out the following for likes and dislikes based on our preferences.

Dislikes:
Transverse or French beds
Proper single beds.
Manual Transmission
No garage storage
Anything over 8.5Mtrs (just won’t fit on the drive)

Likes:
Island bed
Single beds that can join
Auto gearbox (yes including Fiat robotised)
Alde heating
Double floor for on board tanks.

Unsure of:
Truma blown air heating
Tag axel’s
One door only, yes you know the brand I am talking about.

I have a budget of £70K if I must add what I want to bring it up to spec e.g. the likes of good solar, B2B, LiFePO4 batteries, Self-levelling etc. If it has most of them then around £85K.

The plan is to spend the first six months with long UK shakedown trips before heading off to the EU for long distance and time trips.

So, my questions

1.Should a Euro 6 engine be a must have going forward?
Our current MH is 2012 so we avoid any ULEZ type zones, but they are increasing and the risk of getting a fine for an inadvertent transgression is going up.

2. If the Euro 6 shouldn’t be a concern then how old is it practical to buy, based on parts and repairs?

3. Recommendations of makes models that have served you well?

Are you still awake?

Firstly do you have a C1 and no worries when you are 70about retaining it, self levellers eat into your payload. We have a Burstner Iexo 736 (2019) from new. It left the factory plated at 4000 kg on the Fiat heavy chassis. I had to uprate it to 4500kg. this model has the rear Island bed and is not high up like a lot of models, have added hab aircon, a sat system and 2 tv’s 700 watts of solar a Victron 12/2000/80 inverter charger and 2 x 100 Lithium. 2 underslung lpg tanks. When we are loaded up for a trip we come out at around 4350 kg. Extras no change out of 10 grand. This is i hope useful information as to what extras may cost and what they do to your payload.

Yes I have a C1 so no issues there. According to E&P the latest full self levelling system comes in at 50-54 Kg fitted so not as much as you would expect.
