Would any Funsters have any experience of general maintenance and lubrication of a PVC sliding door ?

Google offers lots of opinions but as far as I can see no real clear answer. My local Peugeot dealer doesn’t deal with vans and so aren’t interested , the regional van dealership will have a look but I’ve left it too late before our next trip away in the van.

I believe one issue is you don’t want the door mechanism itself to slide on the runner as it is designed to roll. Also you don’t want to “grease” it and have that end up bunged up with dust and grit.

My sliding door mechanism is becoming a bit clunky and not very smooth.

A common opinion is NOT to WD40 it but is there a more suitable product ? Whatever it is I think that it should be used sparingly.

Thanks in advance.
