I'm a newbie
I have seen all the advice re pro plates for Ducati driver's door to stop the 'screwdriver under the plate' job. All good - understood - one on order. But how about the Hab Door, is this prone to similar attack and if so is there a proplate for this door. I realise I could use a Millenco inside outside lock but I have no clearance on the inside due to the cabinet and the lock would be at the top of the hab door where it would not be very effective. Any thoughts welcome. Thanks

We have an alarm, but on our door it is also trivial to bungee/ratchett our hab door shut (easily removable) as we have a handle to help yourself in + a handle on the door, so whack a chain/ratchett between and it stops the door opening entirely (with it being trivially removable).. If we are sleeping it can be trivial to set that (but we have the alarm too!).
For our (Coachbuilt) there is no proplate possible (and I've never seen one for a hab door) but we have seen hab doors with additional locks fitted (this is easier on a PVC to do).

I think it is only needed in doors with a keyhole.

I have that Milenco lock about 3/4 way up, and my opinion is that any deterrent is better than none. It is out of easy reach but not difficult to remember to lock. I once, a long while ago,had “migrants” try the door in Calais late at night and felt safe(ish!).

I have just bought the dummy fake lock from X8R that sticks on the door as a visual deterrent! Not fitted yet.

As CAB96 says, Pro Plates are only required for handles with key holes. I have just fitted them to my 2020 Ducato handles. I must admit I did do both for an extra £35 to stop some idiot having a go and so they match! I was in both doors fitting sound deadening at the same time so it was no big deal. If you fit them yourself, when you are inside the drivers door looking at the handle and lock mechanism, you will understand the weakness and the plates purpose as they come with an additional plate for the inside that surrounds the lock mechanism.

I just fitted a conventional door bolt to my hab door. it would make a lot of noise if they just tried to rip the door open.
