I’ve just fitted a new (habitation area) water pump after the old one packed in.
It ran fine when I first tested it but when I tried it 30mins later it would not run.
I put a meter on the cables to it and found it was not getting current. Just to be sure I connected the pump up to a battery charger and it ran OK, so confident it is not the pump itself.
I’ve got a Seattle control panel: see photo. If you press and hold the pump symbol in, it ‘forces’ the pump to work, and with a tap open it will run for as long as I hold the button. If the tap is closed it runs until the pressure switch cuts in and stops it, so again I am confident the pressure switch is OK.
With the pump circuit switched on as normal however it is not working.
Sounds like some internal relay is not working in the panel?
Anyone come across this before? Is the only cure a new panel?

Right, realised what is happening finally.
Because I’d drained the water before removing the old pump the panel normally protects the pump from running dry, hence why it would not run. ‘Forcing’ the pump overrides this feature.
Now I drain the tank before winter and in the past I have run the pump until I can hear it starting to pump air, but because the Motorhome is on a slight slope the level indicator is still showing 3 or 4% in the tank so the pump still runs without having to ‘force’ it. I was therefore unaware of the ‘forcing’ feature.
To change the pump I’d put it on levelling ramps on one side to give more room. This made the Motorhome level and so it was now reading 0% although the pump was still finding some water. Hence it would only run if ‘forced’
Just thought I’d mention it in case it helps anyone else in the future!
