Just a little confused . Is it actually possible to stream a previously downloaded Prime movie from the IPad to the Avtex Tv . I have a fire stick but just can’t work out what I’m doing wrong or have Amazon just not developed casting from IOS ?
cheers

I fairly certain that I’ve done that using a Lightning cable from Apple, bought ours in Spain a few years ago for around €50

At a high level, the Fire TV Stick is for streaming media
But, something I never understood, you can launch the Prime app on a Fire TV Stick 😳
If that doesn’t allow you to download Prime media Tom the Fire TV Stick I don’t know why you’d launch the Prime app inside the ‘Stick.

I would do some checks but I left my Fire TV Stick at home.
The free storage space on a Firestick isn’t huge though. 👀🤔

Can you use the Apple lightning cable directly to the avtex as suggested above?

Hi, can’t help with your original enquiry, but I have just bought a brand new avtex tv today only to find you cannot use a firestick with it!
I’m stuck somewhere between really annoyed and effing raging!!!:mad:

We bought a new Avtex in December & can use a Firestick with it. What makes you think you can’t?

As long as it has a USB port I think you should be ok….

What are the requirements missing on your TV?
HDMI port is the main requirement.
The Fire TV Stick needs power. There’s a Micro-USB port for that.
You can use an external USB port or plug for that if the TV hasn’t got one.

Mine is the avtex w215ts.
I put the firestick in and Netflix came up but wouldn't allow me to watch it.
I googled a solution and avtex website said firesticks cannot work on the TV?

I have my Avtex working by ok with the tv. ots not the latest one though. But if it has a hdmi it should work. You’re using the hdmi port you may need external usb if the one on the r. Is not powerful enough

Maybe the avtex w215ts is too smart.
it comes with an Amazon Prime video app and a Netflix one - just to cherry pick the supported apps.

But I don’t know how a telly could stop other connected gadgets providing Prime video, Netflix, etc.

Thanks for the info guys, another problem I have is I can't seem to find the All4 and My5 apps?
Any ideas, sorry I don't want to make this thread about me!

Can you set the firestick up on another tv - it may not have enough power from the usb for set up, but should work when you’ve done it. You need to add all the apps to the firestick & log in to each one - just search All4, IPlayer etc & download.

Thanks for your help, I'll give it a go over weekend and let you know, thanks again

This is part of the spec of the w215ts. It has 2x HDMI sockets and 2x USB sockets, so the Firestick should connect fine. It works fine on our older Avtex.

I have never had any joy using the apple cable. With sky go I get sound but no picture , with Amazon I get a picture but no sound.

I have tried side loading firestick with Sky Go but it wont have it I think sky must encrypt it to stop it being used on firestick?
awe are finding firestick works well with our Avtex telly only problem we have is we don’t seem to be getting a good band width and the programs have to keep buffering? We have a good router with a 300gb sim but I believe it’s down to what signal provider is being used in any specific area?🙄

We have an old laptop or use an ipad to watch sky if needed.

If you download the Amazon Prime Video onto your Firestick (assuming it's not on there already), then log in etc, you should be able to find your movie there.

You will only be able to stream from your ipad to the Avtex TV if it's a wifi/smart TV. Our TV isn't but our Firestick works well and I have successfully watched movies from the Prime Video app on the TV.

I hope this helps.
