Please forgive any rambling (been a long challenging day but escaping to the world of MHF).
Some powerbanks have pass through charging where, if using to mitigate against a power cut, you can plug in to a wall socket, leave it on and the pb will charge at the same time as running whatever appliance is plugged in to it. People do this with medical devices. Then if there is a power cut, the PB kicks in with what they describe as a UPS (uninterrupted power supply)
If i transfer the same logic to a van on hookup, then I could bypass the need for a selector switch. The PB would power the 240v side of things when ehu was not available.
If ehu is available and the PB is in the circuit, would a “trip switch” be required between the van hookup plug on the side of the van and the power bank? I understand that there are trip switches in the PSU to protect the 240v appliances and sockets. Would the trip in the ehu post give the necessary protection or the PB? Is an additional trip necessary?
Thanks for your wisdom,
Cush
