Good morning everyone,

Thanks to this forum - and to a certain Simon Potter, I've booked my 5 Yr old Adria into Adams Morey at Portsmouth on Monday July 8th for a clutch fluid change and relearn. May I ask you good people some up to date advice about where to stay on the Sunday night please? Is Port Solent still allowing overnight parking?

If I chose not to stay at Port Solent, or was unable to, what's a good alternative? Mrs VP will be coming along and she isn't too keen on overnighting in car parks. She's fine with pub stopovers however, I think it's something to do with the food and alcohol.

Many thanks

Port Solent still allows overnighting.
Whilst I understand your ladies' concerns, you can tell her that there is on site security and, on arrival you should ring them, (their No. is on notice boards.) It isn't 'lip service either. Security are pro active and checked on caravans in the car park. (Caravans don't have the cache us Camping Carista' s have.)

They will take your details including Reg. No. and ensure you have a peaceful night, once the cinema attendees leave.
Oh! and point out that there are pubs, restaurants and a SHOE SHOP on site
If that doesn't seal the deal, I don't know what will.

Thank you Emmit, I'm persuaded. (y)

LOL that's true but you've given me good reason, with the comments about security, to persuade my other half without fear of retribution 😬

And she likes a cheap Spoon's G&T or three.

While doing a "tip run" a couple of tag-axle jobbies rolled in there yesterday afternoon. One of them had a car on a trailer as well.

I have stayed at the Golden Lion in Southwick PO17 6EB. Water, grey water and EHU. I’ve used this pub stop for the ferry and Adam’s Moray. Food is excellent and you get a warm welcome from the landlord, Greg.

Job done at Adams Morey this morning, level of confidence in the Comfortmatic increased by several notches, hopefully that's not misplaced. The service at Adams Morey was top class, I didn't get to meet fellow funster Simon but the 2 ladies that I dealt with were brilliant, efficient and friendly. Stayed at Port Solent last night and was mightily impressed. If I'm ever in the area again (I'll be there for another clutch fluid job in 2026 if I've still got the same van) I'll definitely stay there again. Thanks to everyone for the steers to both Adams Morey and Port Solent.
