Hi, after some advice regarding Awnings.

With the MH I inherited a Kampa 260 Air awning which was old at the time and now seems to have given up the ghost and I am under pressure to replace it with a larger awning as we have 2 dogs and want to be able to have friends and adult kids sleep in the awning in the bedroom that comes with it.

I have been looking at a Kampa Expert Classic Air 380 as a contender (https://www.practicalcaravan.com/reviews/kampa-classic-air-expert-380) . I have looked at 300 and 330 awnings, but they are not suitable because they will make access to the garage impractical as that is where the awning would end. So, I either go with a 260 or 380/390 which will not foul the hab and garage door.

I have a Knaus 650 MEG which has a 4m Fiamma extendable awning with a rail to attach the awning. The dimensions say its 380 and the rail height requirement is 235 to 250 (mine is 245) and the limpet system to attach to the MH so in theory all would seem fine but would appreciate any thoughts as it’s an expensive mistake to make if there are fitting issues.

Thanks

Adrian

I personally think air awnings are a pain. Easy to put up but heavy.
I prefer the ones with fibreglass poles but they are getting rare. We have one and will replace it soon if we can find another fibre pole one or something similar.

Vango Kela V , air beam , drive away , goes up down packed in half an hour , fits into bag provided , not bulky or heavy, I am in my 60’s and can easily lift it. You can get it in different heights to suit different vans/Motorhomes from a PVC to a large A class.
