All three of my drains - thats shower, kitchen and bathroom - take ages to drain and occasionally bubbles appear. Can anyone suggest a simple cure?

What about that stuff that they sell for clearing U bends . I bet it’s stuff caught in the corrugated pipe

Had a similar problem, traced to food residues getting stuck in the corrugations from the kitchen sink. Problem solved with plenty of fresh clean water and and a good going with the faithful sink plunger!!

There's not much head of water to create a good flow to carry debris away. So the message to the crew was swill plates in a bowl NOT the sink:giggle:

bubbles coming up is a sure sign that the waste tank is either not vented or the vent is blocked. The bubbles are air displaced from the tank by the water entering. A simple answer is a hole up at the top of the tank that also acts as an overflow

We put a solution of very hot dissolved dishwasher tablet in each drain. Followed an hour later by a good flushing with hot water. Worked a treat. As recommended by another Funster

I had the same problem last week, kitchen sink took overnight to empty. I dissolved a dishwasher tablet in boiling water then let it cool a little before putting it down the sink (drain tap closed). After a while I opened the drain tap and it immediately flowed better but still a bit slow so I repeated this another 5 times so 6 tablets in total and it's now running clean as a whistle.

Thanks everyone I’ll check the venting, use the dishwasher tabs and treat myself to a plunger 🤓

You have a bath?? Wow.

I have been chucking stuff down the waste system to stop smells. Watching this with interest.

Hope you can get it running better. I saw last week when I was seeking help on here that hair conditioner in the shower can clog up the shower drain. Also water from pasta can clog the kitchen drain.

The pipes they use on motorhomes are poor to say the least, wouldn't be accepted in a house. Cheap coke helps to clear them, also reduces build up in the waste tank,

After regular frustrations of trying to keep the pipes clear, we found it much easier to replace the pipes with proper non jointed pipe, quite easy to do at minimal cost, and when they do get clogged, they are easy to clean.

I used a rubber tube the one that’s inside a flat stretch hose. ( I never throw anything away). Pushed it down the plug hole blew like mad pushed it further and it cleared the blockage. Also cut some short bits to put over extending bolt threads to stop them rusting. I put grease inside. Also acts as a good bungee type tying cord, and squashed in a cupboard door stops rattles. I could go on, but I will leave it up to your imagination 😂😂😂

I just shove the hose nozzle against the drain and blast the pipes clean. Works every time for me, and can even do it at the services

All our smells disappeared after using the dishwasher tabs - thank goodness!

Sounds silly but check the routing for the waste pipes, had a similar problem and found that half the waste pipes were tie wrapped up so secure but like an ordnance survey map for up and down, took off tie wraps and straightened pipes and re fitted ,,,,gurgles away like a good un!

Be VERY careful with a plunger or pressurising the pipe with a garden hose. The pipes used as standard in motorhomes and caravans are convoluted (ridged inside) and just push fit connections. Any pressure will push the joints apart behind cupboards and between double floors. It makes a right smelly mess that can take some fixing

My preferred long term solution is to replace the rubbish hose used with smooth bore purchased from an aquarium shop cheaper than the original from a caravan/motorhome place and far superior

ours are just push fit with no seals took all the bits could reach out and washed them through

We had a Autotrail Tracker and found the same regarding drainage of the sinks etc.

I found that if I gave a little go with a plunger it improved massively.

I thought that the ridged pipe they used for drainage used to dip between the fixings and create lots of air pockets that slowed the water flow.

I tried to remove these and it did improve but it never got very good.
