Although we only live 30kms from Poitiers we had an early morning appointment appointment before setting off to Spain so decided to give the aire at Poitiers a go, as recently recommended on here.
Great little aire, well placed to visit the beautiful town centre but just be warned it is VERY steep uphill, and puddle even steeper than that (but delightful going back down again ).
Very Christmassy atmosphere with the market and the Ferris wheel, romantic views across Poitiers. Then we had an excellent fish and chips at our favourite restaurant La Serrurerie just off the main square.
Next morning MrS was treated to a huge pain aux raisins from a little boulangerie by the cathedral. They did huge everything, croissants, pain au chocolat, biscuits etc. Not actually the best, but quite a sight. And he didn’t leave any
