You could try the Horse and Groom at Bittaford on the A38. Large car park. Don’t know if they do Moho stopovers but worth a call.

Stopped there on the way to Plymouth on a motorcycle tour and thought it might be a good Moho stopover.

Once on the Devon Expressway (A38) it is easy driving so maybe this one between Buckfastleigh and Asburton would be nice, The Crib

We have stayed at Longhazel campsite at Sparkford, 200m from the A303.

There is a pub almost next door, a shop opposite, a garage and a McDonalds just up the road.
And the haynes museum and Montacute stately home very close.

It's 2hrs up the road, to or from, Plymouth.
We have used it as first night back, after arriving on a 5pm ferry, and also as last night on the way out for a 4pm ferry
(The site is fine with late departures by arrangement)

Longhazel has won several awards over the years, so it's a regular stopover for use heading down to the West Country or on the way back.

The Sparkford Inn was the place to go in my youth, weekly discos. My Dad and my friend Liz’s Dad would take it in turns to take us. I remember the lecture each week “ no smoking, no drinking and no going outside with boys”! Happy days.

My Uncle John/Ken was the chief printer for Haynes manuals right back from when John Haynes first set it up.
