These are the electric components in my van.
Please tell me in simple terms what the purpose is of each. I have numbered the image 1-6.

I intend to add the Victron 75/15 mppt solar charger and solar panels from my old VW. The PV output from the charger was just attached to the positive and negative on the VW leisure battery. Is that what I need to do here or is there a better way?

Thanks

1. Fuse holder?
2. Booster (charging from alternator).
3. Dimmer for the LED lights.
4. Circuit breakers
5. Charging unit from electric hook up.
6. CBE Main control unit.

Maybe you have a connexion in the CBE for the solar.

Edit: Guigsy was faster 🙂

4) Note the switches are all 'up'

When plugged into EHU at a campsite and you realise the fridge has defaulted back to running on gas, check that these switches, exactly like the ones at home, have not tripped, which will make the switch go 'down'.

Electrics tripping on campsites is a common problem.
As the site electrics were never designed for motorhomes to turn up and start running the breadmaker, the expresso machine, the toaster, the kettle and the hair dryer all at the same time.

The CBE distribution unit No.6 does that when the hab battery is above 13.5v.
Yes. The starter battery definitely charges when the van has been hooked up. I know this because the dealer sent me home with what seems to be a knackered starter battery. To be resolved.

What type of battery is your hab battery?
As those CBE units don't work very well charging the starter battery if the hab battery is Lithium

Hi

On my Weinsberg Carabus.

No 1 is the fuse from the Scahdut b2b to leisure batteries
No 3 us dimmer / remote receiver for the outside led light, Mines failed three time - give up with it now.

I made additions and tidied mine ….

It's a Banner AGM although I was going to put a big Fogstar in there.

It's a Banner AGM
Banner do several different AGM battery types. Is there another bit of the label, like maybe 'Running Bull'?

No.1 looks like two fuses: a large Maxi fuse, maybe 50A, and a smaller standard size fuse.

No.4 is your 240V mains 'consumer unit'. There are three trip switches. The left one, with a yellow 'Test' button and a blue switch, is an RCD. It protects the whole installation from earth leakage faults and electric shock. The middle and right switches are MCBs. They provide overcurrent protection. If too many items are connected on one circuit, or there is a wiring fault drawing too many amps, one of the MCBs will trip. I can't quite read the labels showing the amps limits. The labels look like B16, B13 or B10. The number shows the amps limit, ie 16A, 13A or 10A.

No. 2 is a Lippert WA121525 Booster. It's a DC-DC battery charger. When the engine is running, it takes power from the alternator to charge the leisure battery. It boosts the alternator voltage and amps to provide the correct charging profile for the leisure battery. It can be set for different battery types: flooded lead-acid, gel, AGM etc. When the engine stops, it automatically stops charging. There is a thin wire from the alternator to switch it on when the alternator is running, and off when it stops. That signal is known as the D+ signal.
